The week ahead:

UNESCO

UNESCO will hold its fourth vote on Monday September 21st for its next Director General. So far the leading contender is Farouk Hosni of Egypt.

UNESCO cooperates with intergovernmental organizations, in particular the United Nations and its organizations and other intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

UNESCO belongs to the United Nations family and as such shares the same ideals and goals: peace and security, justice and human rights, promotion of economic and social progress and better standard of living. It maintains different forms of cooperation with other specialized agencies, funds and programmes which belong to the system as stipulated in Article XI of its Constitution.

“UNESCO may cooperate with other specialized intergovernmental organizations and agencies whose interests and activities are related to its purposes.”

Within the framework of the mandate established in its Constitution, UNESCO cooperates and coordinates its activities with intergovernmental organizations, in particular the United Nations and the organizations of the United Nations system.
In order to strengthen cooperation, UNESCO has signed agreements with 16 organizations of the United Nations system.

UNESCO maintains close collaboration and strives to further reinforce its operational relations with United Nations Specialized Agencies, Funds and Programmes through joint activities at country, regional and global levels.

Farouk Hosni of Egypt is Anti-Israel. He has been quoted as saying:

April 2001: “Israel has never contributed to Civilization in any era, for it has only ever appropriated the contributions of others” — and added almost two months later: “the Israeli culture is an inhumane culture; it is an aggressive, racist, pretentious culture based on one simple principle: steal what does not belong to in order to then claim its appropriation”?

Who explained in 1997, and has repeated it since in every way possible, that he was the “archenemy” of all attempts to normalize his country’s relations with Israel?

Or who, as recently as 2008, responded to a deputy of the Egyptian parliament who was alarmed that Israeli books could be introduced into the Alexandria Library: “Burn these books; if there are any there, I will myself burn them in front of you”?

Who said in 2001 in the newspaper Ruz-al-Yusuf that Israel was “aided” in its dark intrigues by “the infiltration of Jews into the international media” and by their diabolical ability to “spread lies”? Source: Librarian

Prophetic Implications of Farouk Hosni becoming Director General of UNESCO:

This man is vehemently opposed to Israel. Israel currently has a peace treaty with Egypt. Egypt is not mentioned in Ezekiel’s war Chapter 38. Egypt is mentioned in Isaiah 19. At some point between the Burden of Damascus and the War of Gog/Magog Egypt is dealt with because it does not involve itself in Ezekiel’s war. Something to consider and search the Scriptures about.

***UPDATE*** Farouk Hosni failed to win the majority vote and thus is not the new UNESCO Director General! Praise God!

PARIS (AP) — A Bulgarian diplomat on Tuesday became the first woman to lead the U.N.’s agency for culture and education, beating out a controversial Egyptian candidate whose one-time threat to burn Israeli books had galvanized opposition.

Irina Bokova, 57, defeated Egyptian Culture Minister Farouk Hosny after a suspenseful and drawn-out race, sealing victory in the fifth round of balloting at the organization’s Paris headquarters. The vote among UNESCO board members was 31 to 27. Source: NYT Online

United Nations Meeting

September 23-26 & 28-30 for General Debate. Some of the most vile and evil leaders will be attending. Among the leaders will be Muuammar Gaddafi (Libya Leader), Hu Jintao (Chinese President), and last but not least in his own mind, Barack Hussein Obama will be the first American President to Chair a seat at a UN council (Security Council)!

The G-20 Meeting

Beginning on September 24th through 25th the World leaders will be meeting in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania of the  United States. The primary objective is to “Coordinate Exit Strategies” for the entire global economic system according to Gordon Brown. Barack Hussein Obama will also be attending the Pittsburgh Group of 20, in fact he’ll be chairing this as well. He’s a busy guy. The last time this group got together was in April of this year in London. The resolve of the meeting earlier in the year led to an agreement among the nations to “Do whatever is necessary to

• restore confidence, growth, and jobs;
• repair the financial system to restore lending;
• strengthen financial regulation to rebuild trust;
• fund and reform our international financial institutions to overcome this crisis and prevent future ones;
• promote global trade and investment and reject protectionism, to underpin prosperity; and
• build an inclusive, green, and sustainable recovery.”

Following the G20 meeting earlier this year was the G8 meeting in July 2009. It was at that time the Pope came out with his Encyclical Cannon that requested all the world find a common global currency and get cracking on fixin’ the world’s economic woes! Do you Remember that one!?

Eight years after September 11th and the Holy War declared on the American’s has not ceased. There are always battles taking place whether they take the form of brutal cold blooded murder ,i.e terror attacks or more quiet sinister attacks such as; corroding our Government, Economic System, Culture, and our sacred rights that make this country the most free yet the most hated. I will leave you to consider that these things in and of themselves are harmless if you fail to recognize the Roaring Spiritual Battle that is ensuing just above!

According to the Washington Times only 3,000 showed up on the lawn to pray. Some Christians attempted to go and were labeled by one publication as “Bigots and Islamophobes” typical anti-Christian rhetoric.

This is a Spiritual Battle!

I’ve shared with you some of the most significant stories I think will be taking place this week. These are stories that have both Global and Local implications. Having all these heads of state in our country over the course of this week is liable to create heavy spiritual Oppression. Call me Crazy but every time BHO comes to my state I can tell! (Testify if you agree!) Anyway. The bible is clear that Rulers and Authorities are put up and taken down by the Lord God Himself. (See Daniel 2:21, 4:2 & 17, Psalm 83:18, Col. 1:15-17). We also know, if we are saved, that we do not battle against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers of dark forces Ephesians 6:12. So although all these things are happening in the world and there is not a ‘Tea Party’ planned please know, if you are a born again believer, if you have been redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb, you can Pray! and the prayers of the Righteous Avail much! Our privilege is to pray for our loved ones, our family, our friends, our neighbors, and yes, even our rulers. I pray that God’s WILL would be done (even if that means the United States must suffer, or I might suffer in the process) His Will is perfect, everlasting, unknowable! Unfathomable! Who can know His ways! Do not fear and do not lose heart, our Lord and Savior told us of these days, let us be ready in season and out of season, be encouraged by these words,

“For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him. 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10“
