I met a Patriot today at the local produce market. I walked out with my two kids and my goodies and in walked a Patriot with the above logo on her shirt. “That is an Awesome Shirt!” I told the woman. “Thank you,” she said kindly as she continued on in and I on my way out. Soon my daughter asked me, “What does that mean on her shirt?” I said it’s the “Don’t tread on me logo, it’s a tea party thing.” As soon as I finished showing my daughter my ‘Don’t tread on me’ image on my phone the woman walked up behind me in the parking lot and asked if I knew about ‘tea parties.’ We discussed the local meeting she attends and she invited me, we talked about the recent T.E.A party on Tax day. She mentioned Glenn Beck. She asked if I listen to Glenn Beck. I told her I did but between the Lord and myself I no longer listen to him because of his Mormonism that permeates his worldview. She defended him briefly stating that ‘he’s a Christian’ although he says he’s a Mormon, repeatedly, she believes he’s “more” Christian than Mormon. I mentioned that I listened to him on the radio and he often would belittle and chastise the Christian callers. She did mention that he doesn’t care ‘which god you believe in’ and admitted to herself in front of me that it does matter ‘Which’ god you believe in. We realized we are both Christian! I encouraged her to look up Matthew 5 Project. I told her I don’t know if ‘Glenn Beck’ has mentioned it or not, but there is a Christian Evangelical Left (AND RIGHT) that is pushing Barack Obama’s Nuclear Proliferation Treaty and encouraging Christians to get behind Obama’s agenda. I disclosed to her some of the names that are endorsing this, Chuck Colson, Rick Warren, and Richard Cizik of EVA. This is a group of Christians who are both Liberal and Conservative, pulling on the heartstrings of Christians, quoting Matthew 5, “Blessed are the Peacemakers,” the same sermon on the mount that Obama likes to take out of context to push his agenda. I told her to be careful, the deception is steep, deep, and wide! She acknowledged that things are very deceptive and that we need to look up Keep Our EYES on the Clouds! Yes we both cheered!, “Jesus is coming!” and we did a high five, which I closed her hand and held it just brief enough to say we are in agreement! calling on Jesus to come! Revelation 22:17″ The Spirit and the Bride say come!” Are you ready?
The Lord warned that there would be MANY who come in His name.(Matthew 24) Also, let’s not forget that Satan, an angel of light, can quote scripture. (Matthew 4) In the temptation of Jesus Christ Satan quoted scripture to the Lamb of God, the King of Kings, the Word in the flesh! Do you not think it possible for Satan or one of his minions to come to you quoting scripture? Do not be deceived brethren! (Luke 21) Test the spirits. (1 John 4:1) I implore you, I beg you, to check what you are hearing against the Word of God.
Matthew 5 Project is a an organization designed to infiltrate the Conservative Right Christian Churches and deceive them into joining hands with INTERFAITH groups for the ‘common good.’ Yes, today Evil is called good, and good evil. This is not just a tactic of Politicians (Sal Alinksy and others) but it’s basis is a spiritual deception conceived out of the pits of HELL. You may not be a believer of Jesus Christ; I understand that not all who visit this site are believers, but this unbelief on your part does not minimize the absolute truth that God is and was and is to come and His word is true. He will not share His glory with another. There will come a time when God himself will send strong delusion on those who refuse the truth (Jesus Christ as Messiah) 2 Thess.2 It is this author’s fear that that time is soon coming! Wake up now while you can. Matt.4:17
Don’t Tread on Me is not just a Tea Party thing. It’s been used for a long long time on flags.
Heres some info.
The flag consists of a rattlesnake superimposed across 13 alternating red and white stripes with the motto, “Don’t Tread On Me” (without apostrophe).
First Navy Jack of the United States was used by the Continental Navy from October 13, 1775 through December 31, 1776. In 1980, the Secretary of the Navy directed the commissioned ship in active status having the longest total period in active status to display the rattlesnake jack in place of the union jack until decommissioned or transferred to inactive status. Since September 11, 2002, the flag has been flown by the United States Navy for the duration of the “Global War on Terrorism.”
This image is based on an image at the World Flag Database, with the color Red from Image:Flag of the United States.svg.
For the previous 50-star flag (still used as a “government jack” in some cases), aee File:US Naval Jack.svg.
yup.I know. Thanks for the Low down, that was not the central focus of my post but I thank you for the extra details! See, patriots are smart!
Interesting post and good comment by Gary–I remember Don’t Tread on Me well from American History.
The following commentary should be considered by every Christian involved in the Tea Party movement or displays the “Don’t Tread on Me”.
The purpose in bringing to your attention the early American flag is neither to bore you nor entertain you with tidbits from maritime history. The idea actually came to me recently as I was considering the words of Jesus from Luke 10:19, where we are told – “Behold, I give you the power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” It seemed strange to me, that if our founding fathers were Christian, which I had always believed, why would they adopt a motto which is obviously in direct contradition to the words of Jesus…….. it becomes even stranger. The answer, at least partially, I found lies with its originator Mr. Benjamen Franklin.

It is time for Christians to wake up and focus on the Lord and not be concerned about protestations of government activities. Too many Christians like the woman mentioned in the post are ignorant and deluded into following anyone who espouses conservative values without testing and examining the spirit that is behind them. They are listening to the wrong voices and they are following after false gods. The Christian should be watching and waiting for the Lord’s return and realize the time is short and be about His business – that of sharing the Gospel message and reaching the lost, investing time, energy and money into things of eternal value. This earth will soon pass away.
The Bible tells us to pray for those in authority. The symbol on the flag indicates a threat of retaliation – that is not what the Bible teaches. It is troubling when Christians make jokes or hateful comments about the President. That is not biblical and it is not helpful.
The situation our country is in today, the leadership and moral decline fall right at feet of the Church that has become weak and compromised. That too, is predicted in these last days. There is a remnant that realizes this, but that circle is ever shrinking and we must be alert and on guard lest we be deceived.
We are not to be unequally yoked, but multitudes of Christians join with unbelievers because of a common cause such as a moral issue or tax protest. This is an affront to the God of truth. We need to have our eyes focused on Him and His Word, not the latest Tea Party event. Many who claim to be Christians are not truly converted and will face an eternity of suffering. Our space of time is only a flicker in comparison to eternity. May God help us to determine the true from the false and be found faithful when our Lord comes for His Church.
Amen sister! ! !
Why do you think Mormon’s aren’t Christian? They believe in Jesus. I’m pretty sure that is the only criteria required to be considered a Christian.
They do not believe in Jesus Christ as the Incarnate God. they believe he was a ‘good teacher’ a ‘prophet’ no more or less than they do their many prophets. They do not believe Jesus Christ atoned for sin once and for all on the Cross, they have a religion of works. They themselves don’t consider themselves Christian why should a Christian think of them as such. They believe in the words of a man named Joseph Smith who is fallible, unlike Jesus Christ who is the Perfect Lamb. Look into what Mormonism really teaches.
Mormons aren’t considered ‘christian’. In fact from the Mormon indoctrination some tried on me, they said that Joseph ‘looked around him and saw that ALL the religions were wrong. They were all fighting and arguing and not in agreement. So he was then given messages from heaven to point him to the ‘truth’. All the churches back then were considered NOT true Christianity at all, by Joseph and ‘god’.
So, why today do they want to be suddenly considered a part of us?
simple. divide and conquer. It’s strategy. They want to be assimilated into main line Christianity.
And by consensus, the leaders of major Protestant denominations are laying aside the truth of God’s Word, which sets the standard for who is and who isn’t considered a true son of God.
These Protestant pastors are laying the foundation for the worlds version of unity in diversity in religion. They have all become apostate. Which means they deny the results of the atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ. That we are forgiven of our sins and have a relationship with God based on faith, and not a single work.
On that hangs the difference that is causing what Jesus called division. He said our foes would be in our own household. Who better to know that you love the results of the atonement than your own family?
Great site. Keep standing for truth. Most of the shepherds of today do not.
That Matthew 5 Project reeks apostasy. I scanned it and was sickened. It reminds me
of what is warned about on herescope concerning the Dominionism that is seeking to
take over churches.
noted on the Matthew 5 Project site: they should respect ‘…each others scriptures..’
as if each church or group has their own.
Oh, I guess maybe Mormons and Islam. Since now they are considered part of His children now.
I fled with my family from being part of the visible church in my area because every church around me is Satanically infested with the mindset of Matthew 5 project, or Purpose Driven, or some other form of betrayal to the atonement.
Sites like yours are helpful to the body of Christ more and more every day, as we gather in greater numbers OUTSIDE the walls of ‘church’ today.
Never thought I would see what I am seeing today.
As a Christian of over 34 years, I now have more friends OUTSIDE the church system then in. And my friends are all believers. WE just have had enough of the false teaching and compromise by our so called shepherds and the pathetic useless yes-men elders.
I am prof that the Lord is quite an adequate shepherd when the false ones have scattered His sheep.
Looking forward to His gathering us.
God bless your ministry
