Glenn Beck’s Restoring Love and Obliterating the True Gospel

•The Third Great Awakening was a period of religious activism in American history from the late 1850s to the early 1900s. It affected pietistic Protestant denominations and had a strong sense of social activism. It gathered strength from the postmillennial theology that the Second Coming of Christ would come after mankind had reformed the entire earth. A major component was the Social Gospel Movement, which applied Christianity to social issues and gained its force from the Awakening, as did the worldwide missionary movement. New groupings emerged, such as the Holiness movement and Nazarene movements, and Christian Science. Source Wikipedia

•The Third Great Awakening (Second Turning, 1886-1908), began with the Haymarket Riot and the student missionary movement, rose with agrarian protest and labor violence, and climaxed in Bryan’s revivalist candidacy (in 1896).  Gilded Age realism came under harsh attack from trust-blasting muckrakers, Billy Sunday evangelicals, “new woman” feminists, and chautauqua dreamers.  After radicalizing and splitting the Progressive movement, the passion cooled when William Howard Taft succeeded Teddy Roosevelt in the White House. •President Bush said yesterday that he senses a “Third Awakening” of religious devotion in the United States that has coincided with the nation’s struggle with international terrorists, a war that he depicted as “a confrontation between good and evil.”

Bush told a group of conservative journalists that he notices more open expressions of faith among people he meets during his travels, and he suggested that might signal a broader revival similar to other religious movements in history. Bush noted that some of Abraham Lincoln’s strongest supporters were religious people “who saw life in terms of good and evil” and who believed that slavery was evil. Many of his own supporters, he said, see the current conflict in similar terms.

“A lot of people in America see this as a confrontation between good and evil, including me,” Bush said during a 1 1/2 -hour Oval Office conversation on cultural changes and a battle with terrorists that he sees lasting decades. “There was a stark change between the culture of the ’50s and the ’60s — boom — and I think there’s change happening here,” he added. “It seems to me that there’s a Third Awakening.” Source: Washington Post 2006

•It would be a long time before America experienced another comparable religious enthusiasm. While one can argue that the Social Gospel campaign of the late 19th century, spearheaded by evangelist Dwight L. Moody, and the revivalism of the 1920s, featuring luminaries like Billy Sunday and Aimee Semple McPherson, qualified as Great Awakenings, these were relatively brief religious eruptions with little cohesion or lasting effect. It wasn’t until the 1980s, with the rise of the Christian right, that a sustained and powerful religious crusade worthy of being called an Awakening took hold–a crusade that continues to this day.

Like its predecessors, the Third Great Awakening is an effort to reignite religious fervor. From the Southern pulpits and television broadcasts where it was launched, it seeks to stem creeping secularism and the moral dissolution that it says accompanies secularism by stressing the same sorts of imprecations that Edwards had: the inherent sinfulness of man, the eternal damnation of sinners, the need for God’s restraints in a world of temptation and transgression. While allowance is made for salvation through conversion–what was called “the winning of souls” during the Second Great Awakening–the core movement, in truth, seems more interested in attacking miscreants than in saving them. In some ways, this is the “Sixth through Tenth” Commandments Awakening, fastening less on one’s obligations to the Lord than on prohibitions of behavior. These Third Great Awakeners are comfortable with Edwards’ indictment in his famous sermon, “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God”: “They deserve to be cast into Hell. . . . Yea . . . justice calls aloud for an infinite punishment of their sins.” Source: LA Times 2001

Restoring Love Rally 2012 (See Video at bottom)

Glenn Beck has been announcing that the “Third Great Awakening” is upon us. Source Fox News 2010 He’s been preaching to Christians and Catholics and sometimes Mormons, Jews, and Evangelicals and everybody under the sun for quite some time now. His message is a social gospel one, something that he once adamantly warned his viewers and listeners against. Glenn Beck once warned of Jim Wallis and Obama’s social gospel message, but it’s ok now that he’s doing it. Glenn Beck warned of Socialism under Obama, but under Palin and Romney it’s ok. Glenn Beck is a devout Mormon but he visits the Vatican and calls for everyone to come together in what sounds more like a “New World Order” one world religion, something he once warned about but now it’s ok since he’s saying it cloaked in Americana garb. The Restoring Love rally in Dallas at the Cowboy Stadium was attended by 65,000 people and I’m sure many more saw it on his webcast or whatever he did I didn’t watch it, I saw clips after the fact. It was typical gag me with a spoon Glenn Beck crazy style of preaching. First he ridicules, then he imbues his audience with Americana imagery, then he goes in for the kill with Baptist style preaching calling on everyone to blindly go wherever he leads them and all of Beck’s bots say, “Amen!”  The people who idolize Beck tweet photos and quotes and it gets really nauseating especially since I thought I unfollowed all the Glenn Beck cult followers after the last Rally he did, apparently I missed a few.

I began this post with other quotes on the “Third Great Awakening,” simply so that you can see its reference in its various forms. Glenn Beck is calling for a “Third Great Awakening” as well, more precisely, he’s says it has already begun. His message is Dominionist at it’s core. You truly have to understand Glenn’s religion of choice, Mormonism, to fully understand his motivation. There are many Christians who blindly follow what he says and never question his authenticity or his sources of information. I’ve heard a Baptist Pastor’s Wife vehemently state that, “Glenn Beck is a Christian.” I’ve had other “brethren” pass on other Dominionists statements and propaganda, referencing Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann, Mitt Romney and many others. What am I to do? I’ve warned so much on Glenn Beck and yet it seems the body of Christ prefers a movement from the New World Order than to study the Scriptures and test the spirits. You want Glenn Beck? You can have him. You want to abandon the pure gospel of truth represented in the Gospel of Jesus Christ for a Social Gospel that restores “America?”  You can have it.

Why They Do Not Warn?

How many Pastors are warning about Glenn Beck? Who has warned you about Glenn Beck? At this “Restoring Love” rally, did you know that Glenn Beck partnered with Operation Blessing, for a food drive? Do you know who Operation Blessing is? Operation Blessing  International:

•OBI was founded on November 14, 1978 by businessman and philanthropist, M.G. Robertson. Source OBI.org  Who is M.G. Robertson?

•Marion Gordon “Pat” Robertson is a media mogul, television evangelist, ex-Baptist minister and businessman who politically aligns himself with the Christian Right in the United States. Source Wikipedia You know Pat, CBN, Christian Broadcast Network, now owned by Rupert Murdoch.

You know Rupert Murdoch? The guy who owns Fox News, who had Glenn Beck’s show for a few years. Rupert Murdoch, Knight of St. Gregory, a Catholic, who runs Zondervan and owns the parent company that runs Thomas Nelson Publishers, Harper Collins. You know, News of the World guy. The image of Rupert Murdoch and his SMOM status was found on page 48, on this doc.

David Barton, “My hero,” says Glenn Beck, clarifies the use of Jefferson’s Koran in history. I find it far more interesting that what Barton is saying is that the United States of America has been paying Muslims a Jizya, a tax levied on infidels (non-believers of Islam). Ever wonder where our taxes go?

Glenn Beck always does double speak. In this video he is calling on people at some point in his best form to take a stand and that America will not cower blah blah blah, and while he’s talking he flashes, “Come and take it,” with a communist star and what looks like a cannon? Weird. And don’t forget to cry Glenn. Whatever you do, cry on cue and announce your next big thing before you exit stage left. PS, the picture of Glenn Beck seated at the throne with his bodyguard below him, he’s sitting at Abraham Lincoln’s desk. Google Lincoln and his wife who consulted mediums. Lincoln was not all he’s portrayed to be. Thank God he aided in ending (one) form of slavery but the who and why behind that is probably hidden from sight as well.

Article of Faith 10

We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.
